লোকরা এ ওর দিকে তাকিযে জিজ্ঞাসা করল, “কে আমাদের বেদীটা ভেঙ্গেছে? কে আশেরার খুঁটি কেটেছে? কে এই নতুন বেদীটায ষাঁড় বলি দিয়েছে?” এই রকম নানা প্রশ্ন তারা নিজেদের মধ্যে করতে থাকল|একজন বলল, “যোয়াশের পুত্র গিদিয়োন এসব করেছে|”
