এরপর অব্রাহামের সঙ্গে ঈশ্বর এক চুক্তি করলেন৷ এই চুক্তির চিহ্ন হল সুন্নত সংস্কার৷ এরপর অব্রাহামের একটি পুত্র সন্তান হল৷ আট দিনের দিন তিনি তার সুন্নত করালেন; সেই পুত্রের নাম ইসহাক৷ ইসহাকের পুত্র যাকোবেরও তারা সুন্নত করলেন৷ যাকোবের পুত্ররা বারোজন গোষ্ঠীর পিতা হলেন৷
