যোশুয়া 23:16

তোমরা তোমাদের প্রভু ঈশ্বরের সঙ্গে য়ে চুক্তি করেছ তা ভঙ্গ করলে এই দশাই হবে| যদি তোমরা অন্যান্য দেবতার সেবা কর তাহলে এই দেশ তোমাদের হারাতে হবে| অন্য দেবতাদের তোমরা কিছুতেই আরাধনা করবে না| যদি করো প্রভু তোমাদের উপর অত্যন্ত ক্রুদ্ধ হবেন আর এর ফলে তাঁর দেওয়া দেশ থেকে অচিরেই তোমাদের চলে য়েতে বাধ্য করা হবে|”

When ye have transgressed the covenant of the LORD your God, which he commanded you, and have gone and served other gods, and bowed yourselves to them; then shall the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly from off the good land which he hath given unto you.
