37. কিন্তু পৌল তাদের বললেন, ‘আমরা রোমান নাগরিক হওয়া সত্ত্বেও তারা আমাদের বিচার না করেই সকলের সামনে বেত মেরেছেন৷ শেষে আমাদের কারাগারে বন্দী করেছিলেন৷ এখন তারা চুপি-চুপি আমাদের ছেড়ে দিতে চাইছেন? এ হতে পারে না! কিন্তু তাদের এখানে আসতে হবে আর এসে আমাদের কারাগারের বাইরে নিয়ে য়েতে হবে৷’
