এক সময় দায়ূদ ইদোমকে পরাজিত করেছিলেন| তাঁর সেনাবাহিনীর প্রধান য়োয়াব তখন ইদোমে নিহতদের কবর দিতে যান| সে সময় ইদোমে অবশিষ্ট যারা জীবিত ছিল য়োয়াব তাদেরও হত্যা করেছিলেন|
