পূর্বদিকে ফরাত্‌ নদীর কাছে মরুভূমি পর্য়ন্ত অঞ্চলে এঁদের বসবাস ছিল| বসবাসের জন্য তাঁরা এই অঞ্চল বেছে নিয়েছিলেন কারণ তাঁদের গিলিয়দে অনেক গবাদি পশু ছিল|
