ইলীশায় ষাঁড়কে ছেড়ে রেখে এলিয়র পেছনে ছুটে এসে বললেন, “আমাকে অনুমতি দিন, আমি একবার গিয়ে আমার মাকে আদর করে আসি এবং পিতার কাছ থেকে বিদায নিয়ে আসি| তারপর আমি আপনার সঙ্গে যাবো|”এলিয় উত্তর দিল, “বেশ, যাও! আমি তোমাকে বাধা দেব না|”

And he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow thee. And he said unto him, Go back again: for what have I done to thee?
