21:5. তারপর ইস্রায়েলীয় লোকরা বলল, “ইস্রায়েলীয়দের মধ্যে এমন কোন পরিবার কি আছে যারা প্রভুর সামনে আমাদের এই প্রার্থনায আসে নি?” এরকম জিজ্ঞাসার কারণ হচ্ছে তারা বেশ সাংঘাতিক ধরণের একটা প্রতিজ্ঞা করেছিল| তাদের প্রতিজ্ঞা ছিল অন্যান্য পরিবারগোষ্ঠীর সঙ্গে যদি কেউ মিস্পা শহরে য়োগ না দেয তবে তাকে হত্যা করা হবে|

21:5. The Israelites asked, "Who from all the Israelite tribes has not assembled before the LORD?" They had made a solemn oath that whoever did not assemble before the LORD at Mizpah must certainly be executed.

21:5. Then they said, "Who among the tribes of Israel did not join us at Mizpah when we held our assembly in the presence of the LORD?" At that time they had taken a solemn oath in the LORD's presence, vowing that anyone who refused to come would be put to death.

21:5. Then the Israelites said, "Are there any tribes of Israel who did not come here to meet with us before the Lord?" They asked this question because they had made a serious promise. They had promised that anyone who did not come together with the other tribes at the city of Mizpah would be killed.
