40:5. অথবা তুমি গিয়ে শাফনের পৌত্র অহীকামের পুত্র গদলিয়র সঙ্গে থাকতে পারো| বাবিলের রাজা গদলিয়কে যিহূদার রাজ্যপাল হিসেবে নিযুক্ত করেছেন| সুতরাং যিহূদার লোকদের কাছেও ফিরে য়েতে পার, গদলিয়র সঙ্গেও থাকতে পারো অথবা যেখানে খুশী তুমি যাও|”এরপর নবূষরদন যিরমিয়কে কিছু খাবার এবং একটি উপহার দিয়ে মুক্ত করে দিয়েছিল|

40:5. Before Jeremiah could turn to leave, the captain of the guard added, "Go back to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam and grandson of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon appointed to govern the towns of Judah. Go back and live with him among the people. Or go wherever else you choose." Then the captain of the guard gave Jeremiah some food and a present and let him go.

40:5. If you decide to stay, then return to Gedaliah son of Ahikam and grandson of Shaphan. He has been appointed governor of Judah by the king of Babylon. Stay there with the people he rules.
