38:14. তামর বিধবা বলে য়ে কাপড় পরত তা খুলে ফেলে অন্য কাপড় পরল ও তার মুখ ওড়না দিয়ে ঢাকল| তারপর সে তিম্নার কাছে অবস্থিত ঐনযিম শহরের দিকে য়ে রাস্তা চলে গেছে তার ধারে বসল| তামর জানত য়ে যিহূদার ছোট পুত্র শেলা এখন বড় হয়েছে কিন্তু তবু শেলার সাথে তার বিয়ে দেবার কোন পরিকল্পনাই যিহূদা করে নি|

38:14. So she removed her widow's clothes and covered herself with a veil. She wrapped herself and sat at the entrance to Enaim which is on the way to Timnah. (She did this because she saw that she had not been given to Shelah as a wife, even though he had now grown up.)

38:14. Tamar always wore clothes that showed that she was a widow. So she put on some different clothes and covered her face with a veil. Then she sat down near the road going to Enaim, a town near Timnah. Tamar knew that Judah's younger son Shelah was now grown up, but Judah would not make plans for her to marry him.
